Rosa Nalbandian
I was born in Kassel, Germany. My parents and I emigrated to a small town in Massachusetts. Thanks to my mom, at an early age, I developed an interest in making things and I learned how to do many hand crafts.
As a young teenager I was the neighborhood seamstress, hairdresser and animal rescuer. I have enjoyed doing leather work, macrame, oil painting, many types of needle work, playing instruments and singing with different groups. I have worked as a registered radiologic and nuclear medicine technologist and a financial analyst for a large national bank.
My passion for designing and hand crafting jewelry began several years ago. I had started repairing some of my vintage jewelry pieces and realized how much I enjoyed working with the different tools and materials. I just love those beautiful gemstones and beads, the various metals, stringing materials and leathers.
My two "shelter cats" Sammy Speed, named after the professional golfer Sam Snead and Abra, she was named Abracadabra at the shelter, are always helping me out while I'm working on my designs. Abra usually just lays on my work, while Sammy does some modeling. He also has his favorite pieces of jewelry called "Sammy's Picks" that you will see occasionally in the blog.
I hope you enjoy browsing through my website as much as I enjoy sharing my designs with you. You may just find that unusual or special piece of jewelry for you, a family member or a dear friend.
